How the Clubs Formed
The Schopp family became supporters of Florida's Initiative for Suicide Prevention (FISP) after the passing of Dylan in February of 2015. FISP helped the Schopp family and the community through a very difficult time and challenging time.
After the release of Jake Miller's song, Sunshine, the out pouring of support was unimaginable to the Schopps. There were countless young adults reaching out from coast to coast, all looking for ways to help #SpreadtheSunshine.
As a result, the Dylan Schopp Sunshine Foundation partnered with the FISP Hope Club's of Broward County to form the HOPE SUNSHINE CLUBS, which helps students overcome problems effectively. The club is now in over 20 schools in Broward and quickly growing.
The aim is that these clubs will help provide students with a safe environment where they can seek support, advice and mentoring to help guide them through difficult times, and bring awareness to something that no one likes to talk about.
